The university has three campuses, which are located in
Fremantle, Broome and Sydney. The Fremantle campus is
located in the historic West End of Fremantle, the main port city of
Western Australia, half an hour from Perth’s CBD. Courses on
offer include education, law, marketing, medicine, nursing,
politics, journalism and physiotherapy. The Broome campus on
Western Australia’s tropical north-west coast offers courses in
arts, education and nursing. The campus is committed to
providing strong support for the process of reconciliation between
Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. The Sydney campus
offers courses in arts, commerce, education, law, medicine,
theology and philosophy. Students are taught in beautifully
restored heritage buildings within the vibrant suburb of Broadway.
Medicine and nursing students are instructed in a state-of-the-art
building directly opposite St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst.
In the university’s endeavour to provide a university
education within the context of Catholic faith and values, all
undergraduate students at Notre Dame are required to complete
courses in philosophy, ethics and theology, which constitute the
university’s ‘Core Curriculum’.
Notre Dame is committed to the provision of
university education within a context of
Catholic faith and values, as well as a high
standard of pastoral care for its students
Another distinctive feature of Notre Dame’s undergraduate
courses is the practicum and internship experiences they offer.
These placements are designed to prepare students for their
professional life and occur in most study areas, including
accounting and management, law, medicine, nursing and
midwifery, physiotherapy and teaching. Notre Dame enables
students to customise their studies to further develop their
expertise through double majors and double degrees.
Notre Dame’s School of Medicine in Sydney has opened a new
Rural Clinical School at Lithgow, which will allow medical
students to train in a rural setting and gain an understanding of
rural health. The new facility includes a 120-seat lecture theatre,
clinical consulting rooms, student training spaces, staff offices
and student accommodation.
Notre Dame has opened its newest building at the Sydney
campus to accommodate the faculties of business and law. The
university has restored a 1908 building in Broadway’s Shepherd
Street to retain its distinctive character and has plans to build an
electronic moot court.
As a result of the collaboration between Notre Dame’s
Fremantle campus and the St John of God Subiaco Hospital, a
new Midwifery Education Centre has been opened. The purpose-
built centre for training midwifery students includes a lecture
theatre, a simulated birthing unit equipped with its own viewing
window and a virtual mother and unborn child.

Notre Dame has a more holistic approach to the selection
process than just using tertiary entrance scores. The university
considers each applicant on an individual basis, taking into
account their potential to succeed in and contribute to Notre
Dame and the broader community. Prospective students apply
directly to the Admissions Office on each of the university’s
Entry is based on personal qualities, motivation to study and
academic potential; contribution to church, school and community
